Trauma.

When people think about trauma, they typically think of single incidents that are physical or sexual in nature. While this is true, trauma can also be a result of attachment disruptions, emotional abuse/neglect, controlling relationships, medical trauma, or grief/loss. The truth is, even when we feel we are “over” what has happened, or maybe don’t even realize we have experienced trauma, our body and mind store our experience and it begins to inform the way we see ourselves, the way we are in relationship with others, and often limits us from living to our full potential. As a trauma-informed therapist, my goal is to help give you the skills to cope while also addressing the underlying ways in which the trauma has affected you.

Collective Trauma & Covid-19

It is important to acknowledge that many of us are experiencing “collective” trauma, or a trauma shared by a group of people, due the Covid-19 pandemic. If you are experiencing heightened symptoms of anxiety or depression, or are just not feelings like yourself, please reach out. We may be living through this together, but you don’t have to live through it alone.
